Can't find YOUR exact serial number in our lookup tables? Many watch companies made hundreds of thousands of watches, and some companies made millions of watches! It would be impractical to list the individual serial numbers of EVERY watch made. Most vintage Swiss pocket watches did NOT have serial numbers and can't be dated by this method.

Some American watch brands did not use a consistent series of serial numbers, but most of the big manufacturers did. Not all vintage watches can be dated using the serial number. A nearly identical example with a movement number only two later than this watch is featured on page 466 of John Goldberger's Longines Legendary Watches. It also features a large central seconds hand, a less commonly seen feature on pocket watches of the era, and a power reserve indicator at 12 o'clock on the dial. This chronometer-grade pocket watch, of course, comes with an extract from the Longines Archives that confirms it was invoiced on February 25, 1948, to Japercia, a Longines agent in Brazil.
